Hi Guys!

Hi, I’m Cole, the tutor behind Tutor Jutsu. Teaching isn’t just my profession it’s my passion. I believe in helping students to reach their full potential through personalized lessons, engaging resources, and effective study strategies.
I focus on subjects like English, Math, Afrikaans, History and Science. I’ve designed Tutor Jutsu to help learners of all ages and abilities master the skills they need to succeed. Helping with homework, preparing for exams, or developing lifelong learning habits, are a few ideas of how I can help. I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
When I’m not teaching, I’m constantly learning myself, I love taking on challenges and learning new things. Tutor Jutsu isn’t just about passing tests it’s about building confidence, discipline, and a brighter future.

What makes Tutor Jutsu unique?

Mission

To help students find their passion, understand what and why they are learning a certain topic, how it is necessary in life and help them excel to the point where they can become independent. The goal is to help learners move away from the typical mindset that "school is boring."

Philosophy

It’s important to remember that our brains naturally discard irrelevant information daily. This means that unless we see the value in what we learn, it’s unlikely to stick. My teaching philosophy focuses on making school topics meaningful and relevant to my learners. I achieve this by connecting their work to real-life situations, helping them understand why these concepts matter. By doing so, I empower students to see the importance of their studies and inspire them to take ownership of their learning.

Tutor Jutsu Debate Class

Debate classes at Tutor Jutsu are group sessions where learners are given a specific topic to debate, allowing them to express their opinions while also considering and learning from the perspectives of others. These classes are a great way to improve communication skills, enhance critical thinking, and develop the ability to argue effectively and respectfully. Through debates, students learn to think on their feet, strengthen their ability to present arguments, and become more confident in public speaking. It’s an excellent way to teach students how to express themselves clearly and respectfully, while also gaining an appreciation for diverse viewpoints and developing essential skills for academic and professional success.

GETTING STARTED

All packages come with the same benefits listed below. When you book a lesson its not just the lesson that you will receive. You receive the additional reassurance behind all lessons. This is where I make sure you understand what you have been taught by providing you with additional resources to practice on your own along with quizzes and results.

Please note that lessons are divided into 30-minute sessions, making them more manageable and less tiring for the student. Learners need a webcam, stable internet (at least 20mbps), and a laptop or computer are required to ensure a smooth learning experience.

Set up

Once you’ve purchased your package, we’ll schedule a meeting at a time that works best for you via Skype video call. The meeting will take about 1 hour, during which we’ll discuss your goals, set up your lesson schedule, and I’ll guide you through the necessary apps you’ll need to download and how to use them.

For parents enrolling their child/children in tutoring, the meeting will be conducted between myself and the parent of the learner. After the meeting, you’ll receive all your details, including passwords and links to platforms like Google Classroom and Khan Academy to get started.

Please note that the time used for this meeting will not be deducted from the original lesson time, as it’s necessary to get you fully set up for the upcoming lessons.

Meeting Discussion Topics

In our meeting, we’ll discuss your goals, any challenges you’re facing, and how we can work together to help you succeed. We’ll also review any assessment results to identify your strengths and areas for improvement (if necessary). Then, we’ll work out a convenient schedule for your lessons and set clear expectations for both the learner and the tutor.

You’ll have the chance to ask any questions or share concerns, ensuring that you're comfortable with the process. Lastly, I’ll guide you through the requirements for online lessons, including the necessary tools and apps you'll need to get started. This will ensure you’re fully prepared and ready for your tutoring sessions.

Benefits

I’ll help you gather reliable sources, analyze information, and organize your findings to make assignments easier. ONLINE APPLICATIONS

Google Classroom is an amazing tool for tutors and teachers. It allows us to create quizzes provide resources and much more. I also use Khan Academy, it's a non-profit organization that helps learners practice.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a super helpful tool that keeps everything for your lessons organized in one place. It’s where you’ll find all your class materials, submit assignments, and track your progress easily. With its simple design, it’s easy to stay on top of announcements, deadlines, and resources I share with you.

The best part? You can access it anytime, anywhere, which makes learning really flexible. It also helps you become more independent since you can go back to materials, watch recordings, and complete tasks whenever it suits you. Plus, it’s a great way to stay connected you can ask questions and get feedback quickly. With Google Classroom, everything you need is just a click away, so you can focus on learning without the stress of feeling unorganized. Learners will need to sign up to Google Classroom with an email address. I will then provide you with the class code that will link us together so that you can access anything that I post.

Khan Academy

Khan Academy is an amazing tool that makes learning fun and easy. It’s packed with lessons, videos, and practice exercises that help you understand subjects better at your own pace. Whether it’s math, science, or even test prep, you’ll find resources that explain things clearly and simply.

What’s great about Khan Academy is that it gives you personalized recommendations based on what you need to improve. I can track your progress, you can practice as much as you need, and even earn badges to keep you motivated. It’s like having your own private tutor available anytime, anywhere. With Khan Academy, learning becomes less stressful and more rewarding! I will be your Khan Academy guide and show you how to use it effectively and I will provide you with feedback. Here you do not need to sign-up I will set up an account and send you the user name and password.
